BK Summer Nights
Tonight the weather is perfect. It’s not disgustingly hot or humid and the constant cool breeze feels good as it hits my face. These are the nights where I don’t need an air conditioner or a fan. I’d much rather sit on my stoop like the good old days when I was still a kid growing up in Brooklyn.
I would be out there with my older sister listening to my boom box, enjoying the breeze, watching lightning bugs fly by, swatting away mosquitoes and racing to the ice cream truck as it drove past.
It felt great to just sit out there for hours and just talk about nothing yet everything; we’d talk about music, homework, cute boys in our classes, handball, BBQ’sĀ and how beautiful the night sky looked in the summer time.
I miss those nights.
