Phoneless 4th of July
For those of you who don’t know, I own a jailbroken and unlocked iphone. This 4th of July it bricked (basically died) on me, it just laid there on my bed with a black screen unable to be revived after many attempts. I was heartbroken and devastated.
It’s pretty sad that, we as a people, have become so attached to mobile electronic devices. I started to panic and freak out that I would no longer be able to update my facebook status within minutes, or check the weather instantly, or use aim (notice I did not mention that I would be unable to call anyone and vice versa).
Luckily I did have an old blackberry that I was able to use temporarily, but I had no contacts on that old phone, or “apps” or anything; I was really only able to use it as a phone to make calls and or text messages (you know the most basic and important functions of a phone).
I thought I would have to go a month or two without my iphone because now that it had bricked on me, I would have to restore, re-jailbreak and re-unlock the phone and this isn’t an easy task especially with all the firmware updates Apple rolls out with. But due to my internet savvy/hacker abilities, I was able to restore, re-jailbreak and re-unlock my iphone within 24 hours. Don’t you just love the internet??
Anywho, my iphone is feeling much better and I’m grateful cause I couldn’t stand typing on that blackberry anymore.
